Having delivered this session throughout Canada including as far north as Yellowknife we are thrilled to have our ally Natricia join us in hosting Engaging the Disengaged in Toronto, October 29th!
What have others who have taken part shared about Engaging the Disengaged?
“After Engaging the Disengaged, I learned about stepping back to reflect and take note of my own values in order to support people better!”
“I felt safe (at the capacity building session) and that my work was appreciated. Working with other organizations is really important to keeping myself and the students (I work with) informed!”
“I felt (the capacity building session) recognized and reinforced what I’m good at.“
“The high point would be how open the group was and how willing everyone was to sharing their experiences and giving advice respectfully.”
“I enjoyed how well the presenters (Pytor and Dale) interacted with each other. Very positive and made listening very easy!”
Throughout the day Dale, Pytor and Natricia will walk through six sessions sharing from their experiences and expertise in building community, creating safe, respectful youth friendly spaces, acknowledging policies and procedures that prevent meaningful engagement, reaching out in ways so youth reach back and strategies to engage those youth who aren’t connected, coming or using the services and or programs you are offering.
Engaging the Disengaged is geared to youth and community workers, probation or justice staff, health care professionals, decision makers within organizations and government, teachers and all others wh0 have youth in their lives. This day long session will provide an opportunity to connect, share your experience and expertise while you build capacity to reach out to those who often don’t reach back.
We look forward to seeing you Toronto!
Thank you for your great work! Toronto welcomes organizations like yours.
